Ouachita Trail (OT)

The OT is a National Recreation Trail for hikers that stretches almost 222 miles across one of Arkansas & Oklahoma’s most scenic regions, the Ouachita Mountains. Our three-part topographic Backcountry Maps, Thru-Hiker & Single-Track Series, covers this area in dramatic detail from the highest and rugged peaks in the west to gently rolling hills in the east. These are the only recreationally focused topographic maps available for purchase that cover the Ouachita National Forest in Arkansas & Oklahoma. So no matter what section of the OT you want to hike, bike or explore, you now have the perfect maps to make it possible.

Ouachita Trail Central (Map 2 of 3)

This section is chock-full of recreational opportunities of all types and covers nearly 82 trail miles from Turner Gap Shelter to Highway 7 trailheads. Although this map focuses on the OT, we made sure the coverage area included all the Womble Trail (approximately 37 miles) and the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (approximately 39 miles), both of which are recognized as EPIC trails by the International Mountain Biking Association. Oh yeah, the OT is also considered an EPIC trail. That makes this map an EPIC three in one.

This section of trail generally follows the ridgeline north of the Ouachita River and Lake Ouachita. Lake Ouachita is shown in its entirety, along with more types of recreation than we have time to list here. So you’ll just have to go see it for yourself.
